Museum of Latina
The museum of Latina is a new urban cultural center, a horizontal building complex that fits in gracefully with the landscape. The basic con- cept was to connect the two existing buildings therefore enhancing the green space between, whilst also maintaining proportion. The design proposes a constructive solution which is low cost and low tech for better architectural integration. In the main building, the project redistribu- tes existing interior spaces by redesigning the route that the public take and this determines the form of the new building. To the north a new temporary exhibition space, to the south an area dedicated to schools and a refurbished conference centre to the west creates a courtyard, with paths that connect every part of the museum. This creates private areas for independent but linked events outside.
